At WOW! Travel we are extremely fortunate to visit many exotic countries and interesting places on educationals. These educationals allow us the opportunity to visit destinations, experience airlines, stay in numerous hotels and visit interesting sites that we can in turn pass onto to our clients as first hand knowledge and advice. Even when on holiday we still take part in hotel inspections and take note of details to better know each destination we visit.

In 2007 WOW! Visited:

Lisa Myers

  • Alaska

Lisa had a once in a life time opportunity to visit Alaska in luxury on a 10day cruise. Although I am the first to admit that I really dislike boats and get seasick, this really was an educational highlight of my career in travel! The cruise was a small luxury ship that can only accommodate a maximum of 100 people on board. This is in comparison to the huge cruise liners that cruise the Alaskan waters with up to 3000 passengers! Due to the size of the ship, we experienced a close up view of the real Alaska through the magnificent Alaska Inside Passage that most people don’t.

  • Phuket

Lisa holidayed in Phuket with the kids in January. We flew Tiger Airways and found the on board staff to be fantastic, a great airline. The girls and l stayed at the Evason Phuket & Six Senses Spa. This is an unbelievable resort to either take the kids (as they enjoyed many mocktails by the pool) or bring that special loved one to experience utter indulgence and to be spoiled from the moment you step onto the resort.

  • Hawaii

Melanie Brown

  • Hawaii

  • USA - San Francisco

Melanie visited San Francisco extensively during a 5day visit in May. This was my second visit, however this time I really got an excellent grounding and saw a lot of this foggy city. Sure you can do the normal tour and pray that the fog has lifted so that you can take a photo of the famed Golden Gate Bridge, however I sourced out a movie tour! We visited many famous movie sites such as the Hitchcock movies ‘The Birds’ & ‘Vertigo’, ‘Interview with the Vampire’, an old Steve McQueen classic, ‘The Bulit', the painted ladies (pictured) of ‘Full House’ fame and my favourite, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’.

A visit to San Fran would not be complete of course without learning more about Alcatraz. I was lucky enough to meet one of the children who used to live on the island and who now has written many books about her experiences and life on Alcatraz.

Robyn Lawley

  • Western Samoa

Robyn has sunbaked on some of the best beaches on Western Samoa with the family. A great chance to get the family together and spend some time reconnecting with the kids. For the adults and parents it’s the time to chill out by the pool or on the beach with cocktail in hand.

  • Turkey, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia

Robyn finally made it to Turkey and Vienna (both Lisa & Melanie have traveled Turkey extensively due to previous work in a Turkish travel wholesale company). I loved this exotic country. Turkey is so different to any place l have ever been before! I visited Istanbul, Gallipoli and Ephesus. All favourites and a must see when visiting Turkey. We had the opportunity to get off the beaten track a little and see small villages such as Selcuk & Sirence with cobble stone streets and the village locals selling beautiful handmade linen and intricate crochet work.

Vienna was also a highlight, great shopping, groovy hotels and hot chocolate to die for! We flew Austrian Airlines, in Business class which I can highly recommend.
