ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day Tours and Dawn Services around the world are becoming more popular. They allow you the opportunity to learn more about the importance of Australian's at war in that specific location.
WOW! Travel often arranges travel for clients to Gallipoli, for an extremely moving Dawn Service. There are however many other destinations around the world that also cater for a unique dawn service or have specific memorial days for that particular area and battles fought. Some of the more popular destinations include Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt and France.
One of the newest locations for a moving Dawn Service is Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. Many people combine a Kokoda Trek with a Dawn Service at the end (trekking Kokoda at this time is discouraged however due to numbers on the track). You might like to pay your respects at the Bomana War Cemetery at the Dawn Service, learn more about the military history in the area and further north and experience the local PNG culture too. No trekking involved!
